I Have A 1978 Cobalt 19br. It Is Real Nice In & Out. The Port Side Exhaust Manifold Is Getting Hot And Melted The Boot Where It Connects. I Just Took It Out Of Winter Storage And Ran It For 15 Minutes Or Less On The Lake When This Occured. The End Cap Of The Exhaust Manifold On The Same Side Was Replaced Last Fall Because It Was Leaking. Does Anyone Have Any Ideas What May Cause Just One Side Of The Exhaust To Get Hot. It's Obvious That There Is Some Kind Of Restriction Or No Water Getting To It To Keep It Cool But I Don't Have Any Experience To Help Myself Figure It Out... Thanks, John

You'll have better luck posting your question in the Mercruiser, Volvo, engine, etc Forum. Since the problem isn't model-specific, the gearheads there will be able to help you better.

Usually if one side is that hot, there is an obstruction, either foreign object or corroded water jackets. JMO

Good Luck, Ted
