I want to install a water pressure gauge on my motor but I don't know what the pressure range would be.... any Idea? Oh, I believe it's a high pressure pump?

Thanx,

Get a 0-15 psi-range gage, it'll never see the high-side of the range.......ed

Thanx Ed... all I could find was 0-30 PSI but that will also do the trick.

Thanx again,

If you can, try and locate a 0-15 gauge. They do exist, I just installed one on my boat a couple weeks ago.

With the 0-30 gauge you will hardly see any movement in the pointer. As Ed pointed out in his post, you will most likely never see the needle move above 1/3 scale on the 0-30 gauge. Even at WOT you will only achieve 10-12PSI at best. At idle or no-wake speed the needle won't hardly move off the peg.

I agree that the 0-15 gauge is more precise, but the 0-30 gauge is more commonly available. I have the 0-30 gauge on my boat and it provides a sufficient indication of water pressure at idle and WOT for easy monitoring. While less precise, a 0-30 guage is still much better than having no pressure gauge at all and having to instead watch, touch, and interpret the pee stream. Just my thoughts.
