Picked up this little motor last week. Puked fuel when you turned the gas on so I took it apart, cleaned it up, slapped it back on and she fired up third pull. Was quite happy with this. We had it set up in a 5 gallon bucket outback and while running there was no "tell tale"? i think that is what it was called? Either way the mist I thought I was suppose to have out of the 2 exhaust ports on the leg of the motor was not present. Am I needing to replace the impeller, water pump, or something else I am unaware of? Boat motors are a new thing to me and I would really like to learn what I can about this.

You gotta get your model number - it's 217.XXXXXX, and plug it in here;

This is a good source of part numbers. Sears gets their parts from Certified Parts Corporation. CPC's web site is useless, but if you call them with part numbers, they can hook you up with oem parts.

Also, here's the mother load of Sears/Eska info;

That motor won't squirt a steady stream of water, but when it's running, if you hold your hand in back of those holes while it's running, it ought to mist your fingers pretty quick. I would not screw around with that impeller, keep it fresh. Lots of people see the fins on the cylinder, and they think it's air cooled. The top end is air cooled, bottom end needs water. For some reason, if you order an Eska impeller, it's $24, but if you call it a Merc impeller, http://www.marineengine.com/boat-fo...865-Eska-Files-Links-to-Eska-resources-online It's $9. Here's a place I've used for 7.5 parts;
