1978 90 hp trim will it work on a 1962 100 hp

Hi all I got a question will the trim unit off my old 1978 90 hp fit my 1962 100 hp merc?? thanks john

My Buddy Thom seems to think it'll work!

See the attached pic.

It's an 850 FGS but the fitment to your M1000 would be the same.

That will take a serious amount of "engineering".

I don't think it will take much "engineering". The 1978 90 should have been a 100 cu inch inline 6 with two cylinders and the pump inboard, (same as my 1978 115), and the old 1000 should be the 90 cu inch. I swapped my 1968 1250 to my 1969 1000 without much trouble, (a bolt up job). The 1250 was similar to yer 90 and the 1000 should be similar to mine (at least where the trim bolts up to the engine). Ok thanks . I was looking at it and it measured about the same I didnt get the calps, out to measure it but it really looks like i can !!! just wanted to see if any one else had luck with this !! thanks to all John

Ed...I gotta see/stop out ...scope whats happening at "T"'s ..as he has probably holed up in shop...him...aka.."Dr Frankenmerc"..SCARY!:D:eek::cool:
