Hello gents. I am a bit stumped on this one, so I thought I could come here and give it a stab to see if you guys can help me out before heading to a boat mechanic and spend my life savings. Hehehe. Here goes, I have a 1978 Evinrude 115 motor with tilt that I've had for two years and up to now, I've had zero issues. I last used the boat on 06/07/12 and ran about a mile to and from my fishing spot. The motor ran like always strong and no issues. Well, fast-ward to this past Monday. I get to the lake and darn motor takes forever to start up. Well, after about 15min of trying, it starts and off I go, but it will only turn 3200 WOT! I make it to my fishing spot and fish for a few hours and head back to the docks. Again, I have a heck of a time starting it up. It fires up and I have to quickly put it in gear or it will die. I make it back to shore and as soon as I put it in neutral, it dies. I get home and try to start it up and its a no go. I am getting fuel to the carbs, the fuel bulb is full and hard when I pump it, my batteries are freshly charged, all fuses are intact, the fuel is only a few days old(50:1)ratio. Motor turns over strong, but it wont start. I do at times get it to start for a few seconds and then it dies at neutral. The only thing I did different is that I didn't burn out the fuel in the carbs from my 06/07/12 trip. Do you gents have any insight? Thanks in advance.
