1978 Evinrude 55hp (55875S) Wiring help.

Hey guys im trying to find the whole harness (Motor Side) but it says 1978 Discontinued...

This motor has only been ran maybe 20 times in its life the harness is completely shot .

I checked it last summer when i bought the motor .. 165 or 185 both cyl's top and bottom .. I didint even bother to run the motor due to the wiring .


Its the Red plug 7-pin

Just wanna say thanks to the people on here ... I made my own harness only needed to replace a few wires to test the motor out ..

The motor last ran 9/1994 lol ... well droped the bowls cleaned everything out new home made harness new fuel lines lubed the starter cleand the grounds sprayed some WD-40 in the cyls let is cycle a few times then added the fuel she FIRED right up not missing a beat and the pump works like new also .. i will replace it since its so old before it hits the lake but i paid 100 dollars for the whole boat with a tittle and the boat was shot so i kept the motor and trailer.

This motor runs just like my 96 50hp did .. without a load in a tank it revs up good no breakup .. next week when i find some controls ill throw it on the water and see what it dose under a load... ive been letting it idle with 40:1 MIX for 20 mins at a time just to lube the mains and rod bearings up before i throw it on the water and stress it .
