1978 gamefisher eska

im looking for a recoil for a 1978 gamefisher made by eska with tecumseh engine 15hp please help.could a machine shop make this out of aluminum?this is the 3rd one ive broken.30year old plastic gear doesnt hold up very well

also have a problem with when i start the motor it runs and idles good but dies when put in gear.has brand new fuel line and carb is good.had it checked by a boat motor repair man.how much air does it need from the tank?i put a spray paint can over my gas cap with a pin hole in it so water wouldnt get in my tank could that be a problem

$$$$ if you could even get someone interersted, best bet is keep putting used ones on. I had recently found a NOS recoil gear on Ebay.

As far as not idling when in gear, I would be more inclined to want to check plugs and gap and fuel line from the tank.

fuel line is new plugs are about 2years old so could be the plugs.do you guys think its possible that a machine shop could make that gear on the recoil?ive bought 3 and broke them all.this last time i paid 60 for one and it lasted 1 day.i even did what the guy said and pulled it out some until it engaged and then pulled to start but still broke it.its a decent little motor so id like to try and keep it going if possible thanks

best to ask a machine shop, if they can do it I'm guessing it would be with a CNC machine, better make a batch to sell cause I doubt it would cost you any less than say a excellent shape 15hp J/E, but I may be wrong.
