Very nice work. When I went looking for a transom seal for my 71 there were two types. one was the old type like I have and is a cork gasket (actual mercruiser part). It was $34! The newer type, like you have, sat in a groove and was $9.
As for your 305....why? I would be searching for a 350.
Yeah, I know, I get asked that by, well, everyone.
Basically, I'm not a speed junkie, and I wanted to work with that I have, and what the boat came with...it shipped with a 305, and that's what will go back in.
Right now, the CVZ-18 (project boat) needs the entire gimbal housing redone, tilt/trim sensor wires are cut, shift cable worn & rusted...so I have lots of time before the motor goes back in.
