Re: 1978 Islander 22

paparoof, looks like yours is a standard model, based on some of the pix you've posted. Any other shots of the interior you can share?

All the pics I have so far are here:
http://www.paparoof.com/photos/v/starcraft/?g2_page=4

but I don't have much for shots that show the entire interior. I'll be back at the boat on Saturday, I'll take some new pictures then.

But mine does have transom seats and only front two seats up at the windshield (helm and passenger).

I think that Islander is off the HOOK!!!

I also think you need to put a thread over in the Starcraft Owners Forum with that baby..and VOTE in the Which Starcraft Rules Iboats thread..

Welcome to the insanity!

Finally got around to doing something about the rotten dashboard - I removed it!

It was easy enough to chip it away the deteriorating particle board, it had the consistency of a wet granola bar. Once I was able to get a good hold on it, it came out in big chunks.

The underlying surface is just a continuation of the roof of the cabin in front of the windshield, so I think I'll just keep it as is for the time being.

Interesting to note that the wood I removed weighed 50 lbs. Here's pix of first mate Jack using Mommy's good bathroom scale to demonstrate the weight of the debris.

Love it when soaking wet wood leaves a boat! I bet that Islander loves it too! Wet nasty carpet used to reside in that spot on my rig.

Cheers!

I'd love to see a pdf or scans of the 76' cruiser brochure.

And my boat doesn't have anything on the dash, I've been thinking about putting some wood or starboard underneath and a rubber material on the top.

50lbs.. wow!!!

Check out the Starcraft Brochures sticky, Kainon. Horsecapades scanned and posted it a few weeks ago. :D Really helpful to me.

I was able to get a 40G Tank for under the floor, if you can get a custom Alum tank you could probably do 60g,

My cabin floor does drop about 18" from the deck floor, and my tanks (2 18g) were above deck.
