Tonight i have reached the final stage of getting my motor into shape. In the yard here at the house i repaired the fuel lines and replaced filter and gaskets in the system. The motor runs well except for a little smoking, burning off the bugs. I put b-1 in the fuel system and it seems to be running better as it gets warmer. Fuel pressure is great, ball is hard as a rock, doing good. I have the motor connected to a muff, water going into the system well. When i put the motor into gear and rev up slowly, i have water coming out of only one exit hole from the water pump discharge. Being hooked up to a muff would this limit water intake into the system? Being the motor is not submurged would this limit the intake?
Motor runs well and water is coming out of the discharge, indicating proper impellar operation, just coming out of one hole, is this normal, or does the motor have to be compleatly submurged to achieve maximum intake?
I have come a long way rescuing this boat and motor from a 3 year lapse in operation.
I got a good deal, and everything indicates the fellow that had this boat took care of it, God rest his soul, and he is watching me every step of the way.
Thanks for anything......jas.....
