Ok, when I bought this boat the wiring had all been re-done on it. I know that originally to activate the choke you push in on the key but the guy I bought it from said he lost the key to it or something so he re-wired everything to switches. Well, the choke is wired to a toggle switch and when switched it stays on, well i must have hit it or something not paying attention and when i went out to it today i noticed the battery was dead and the choke was on. When I charged the battery back up the choke silenoid was stuck in the on position and wouldn't turn off. I pulled it off and tried to wire it straight to the battery to see if I got anything and I didn't. So my problem is the part is discontinued so I'm not sure if there is a place to get hard to find parts such as this, or if it's repairable or what... right now i have to pull the cover off the motor and use the manual switch for the choke everytime i let the motor sit for to long... appreciate any help...

must be a million old choke solenoids (if thats what you mean) lying about all over the place, can't say that I have ever seen one faulty, any dealer that has second hand bits should be able to help you out.

mind you, I reckon a new key switch would have been a whole lot easier than wiring everything to switches, but whats done is done I guess.

google "tubular pull solenoid", bet you can find one that will work just fine.

and, might I recommend a "momentary" switch for the choke. ;)
