Sounds like a deal to me too. Hows the trailer. Is the hull good? Doesn't matter if the floor, stringers and transom are rotten, they need to be replaced anyway. Why do you say the hull is junk?

Fish, sounds like you have a solid starting point....those old 175's were tough motors, and you have good compression.......hope you find a boat that will be happy with it.

thanks for your input
The boat itself is in very poor condition .
all of the storage hatches are broken. floor is full of holes transom is litteraly, about to fall off, and it has no seats left
the hull itself apears to be okay if you want it.
save me a trip to the dump

but the valvanized trailer is in great shape

Fish-man, Sounds like a good deal to me......Compression looks excellent, and trigger plate is about $100(new), and the prop shaft about $150.00 . Of course, you should easily be able to find those parts on Ebay, or your local boat junkyard used and much cheaper. Fixit Man..... Goodluck.....BushCat
