Hi, Wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram for a 1978 OMC 307, 225 HP 800. I have replaced the alternator with a new 1 wire 60 amp unit. I am replacing the wiring from the alternator to the amp meter(6ga)(replaced with new also) and back to the starter(6). It looks like someone has been into it before, can't find any fuse locations except for 20 amp glass fuse holders under the console which are a 20 amp between amp meter and ignition and another 20 amp between ignition and accessory panel. Logic tells me there should be a fuse or link between the alternator and amp meter and another between amp meter and starter but I may be wrong. My seloc manual seems to be missing after moving. If no one has a diagram maybe some insight on fusing will help. Thanks in advance. Ahh, almost forgot. The new alternator is internally regulated so I think I will have to connect the purple wire coming out of it to a new 12 volt source, I think??

I think the diagram will be in THIS THREAD for when you put the volt meter in.

Thanks all. It seems there was suposed to be a fusable link or fuse coming off the alternater and again before the lead to the solenoid but they had been removed at some point. And yes, I should have replaced the amp meter with a volt but i'm really used to the amp meter. Yes, she is old but reliable. Engine was changed to a 383 stroker. The 305 was the original and the wiring looked to be original. Thanks again. Don't know why I was thinking 307????? Still looking for my manual.
