1978 power trim motor ID for my ranger boat

I have a 1978 V 158 Ranger with a 90 hr merc my power trim motor is getting hot and it works haphazardly and slow I'm trying to identify so I can replace it if anybody has any ideas or knowledge on this please let me know if have pictures of it ..I can email or pm them to you ...I see no numbers or Id on it I

Your PTT motor should be part of the trim reservoir, and mounted in the boat. It should have 4 hydraulic hoses.

I would take the PTT motor and reservoir to a starter shop and see if they can rebuild it for you. The alternative is to look for an aftermarket replacement. ARCO used to make one, but I am unsure if they still do. It was an assembly of the motor and upper reservoir. You were to bolt the original reservoir bottom to it.
