Re: 1978 starcraft american 15 project

Man great score!!! Glad to see another American owner on here. I got a 77 American 16' and yours looks like a winner already. When i started cleaning out mine, my friend put his foot through the floor, turns out the deck and transom were made from shredded wheat. As far as power plant, mine has a 84 Johnson 115, couldnt tell you how it runs with it, still rebuilding. Anyway, glad to see such a great score. keep the pics coming!!!

There has been progress on this boat, I know it, I can feel it in my bones. I believe that kev might just be holding out on us.

Thats a cool looking boat... looks like she should be fast too! Hopefully the transom stays good... Jas and I could come "help" you with it :D If you need any parts I might be able to scrounge them, I've only scrapped 8 glassers this year so far :D :D

This boat is obviously the result of a friend that only listens to half of what you tell him :p

Yeah, he clearly understood the "fiberglass is a superior marine product" part, he just messed upon the "starcraft" part...

Sometimes Jas doesn't communicate so well, so its not all on Kev...

Kev, you will soon realize that that there are two types of people here on iboats: Those who love fiberglass and those who are lying...

OK, I talked to Kev today...

He has pretty well decided to chop this boat up and toss it out. He likes metal boats better;)

That glasser appeared to be in pretty good shape.. What's up? Did you find some rot? It looked like it was pretty much water ready once you found some power....

Jas - you clearly breached your promise... Very sad... Thought you were a man of your word:

OK, so we had no real wager on this but as an act of good faith and sportsmanship I'll head over to my buddy Kevin's place and legitimately help him to rebuild/repair his glasser. (PMC I would have given you a hand on yours but that's a bit of a drive for me, so next best I suppose). While I'm there I'll limit my hazing comments of glass=garbage and will in no way harm that American. Cool? Cool.

Bah, I was just talking smack up there ^^^^. Kev still has the American, just trying to get him to post up his progress is all. He has made progress;)

But, yah, he does need power. I've been looking pretty much every day for him. Even though he is a glass guy he's a bottom feeder just like me so I gotta find a deal:D

But I think I know a tinny owner that would gladly lend a hand if the American had to go under the knife.....:D

Glad those rumors were false:cool:

Answers my question in the other thread, you lose a bet or you just stocking up on parts boats?

Also, Jas is a cold, calculating serial glass boat killer. Be very afraid....

He has even decided to make room in his garage for this project.....

More on that ^^^^ later:D....

(MOOooooooHhhhahahahahhhahaaaaaahahhahah)

Just felt I needed to add an audible...
