1979 100 hp johnson

hi all,<br /> i just installed a new impeller due to routine maint..before it didn't pump water out of the six hole on either side of the lower unit but, now it does. is this a problem? it also pumps more out of the two holes at the top of the exhaust housing. is this a problem? <br />thanks, LIKEAROCK

Sounds like no you do not have a problem.The fact that you have water coming out the idle releif ports shows you did not miss the water tube and have water entering the powerhead.To verify this fire it off on flusher or on the water and let it run a while all the time feeling top of cyl head.Becareful of flywheel.Should only get unconfortably hot not unbearably. These things fount a lot of water from lower.
