Do I remove the power trim lines from the outboard first or do I have to worry about draining the oil before hand? Does the outboard remove separately from the T/T or come off together? Thanks

Most of the time the access hole for the hoses is too small for the pump to pas though... We would disconnect the hoses, either at the engine end or the pump end, doesn't matter.... If the hoses go over the transom well, you can remove the lot together...

i'd remove from the engine end (trim cylinders)first. easier to catch the oil outside the boat, less messy.

The trim cylinders threads strip easily, so be careful if you plan to remove them there. Why not remove the trim cylinders from the motor, and wire them to transom, if you are planning to reinstall motor.

good point and good idea chris. they are hard to get even a reg wrench on and a flare wrench don't fit, at least mine don't. I had to lift my motor just a little to get the cylinders off though.

I am removing the lift and the motor for a transom replacement (Rot) . First time for either. Many questions in my head! Thanks for all support

Sounds like you can leave the PTT system in one piece. Unbolt the trim cylinders and brackets from the transom bracket. Now pull the motor and toss the brackets and cylinders into the boat, with the pump.

Happy fiberglassing.....
