Re: 1979/1980 150 black max
After reading what I wrote decided to look at manual and it seems the rapair page is paritally incorrect or unclear(I should have read more carefully befor posting). The DVA readings are correct but some of the resistence test should be made between the wires (below) and not to engine ground.

I copied this from a similar post:

Disconnect all 4 red / blue wires from everything.

Blu to red = 5,400 - 6,200 ohms
Blu/wt to red/wt = 5,400 - 6,200 ohms
Red to ground = 125 - 175 ohms
Red/wt to ground = 125 - 175 ohms

For the trigger the following 3 tests should come out at 1,100 to 1.400 ohms. (all wires disconnected)

Brown (without sleeve) to white (with yellow sleeve)

White (without sleeve) to violet (with yellow sleeve)

Violet (without sleeve) to brown (with sleeve)

The rectifier, set the ohm scale to 1000x

I copied this from an old post as well. There is a wealth of info if you try the search command.

1.disconnect battery
2. Using an ohmmeter, connect red lead to ground, black lead alternately to the two stator terminals. Should have continuity
3. Connect black test lead to ground, red alternately to stator terminals. Should be no continuity.
4.connect black lead to positve terminal on rectifier and red lead alternately to stator terminals. Should have continuity
5. connect red lead to positive terminal on rectifier and black lead alternately to the stator terminals. Should have no continuity.

Good luck.
