1979 200 johnson does it have slow

wondering if my 1979 johnson 200 has spark shutdown system if over heating and if each bank is seperate system so 1 bad thrmostat could shut down system

deerslayer,<br /><br />To the best of my knowledge, that motor only has an alarm.<br /><br />On some Johnson/Evinrudes the temp sensor is only on one cylinder bank.<br /><br />Not sure which you have.<br /><br />To check, see if there are sensors on both heads.<br /><br />They will have a tan wire going to them.<br /><br />I'm sure someone else in this forum will give you a better answer, I just figured I'd give it a shot.<br /><br />Good luck.

The temp sensors will go off at about 165 degrees and sound the warning horn. That motor does not have SLOW, it will run until it locks up.
