Hello every body it's been a while. Well I changed my spark plugs to my 1979 55hp evinrude outbord motor and the old spark plugs had lots of oil I mean alot! Is this normal our what can I do to fix this problem? Well thanks to every one!! One more thing does any body know what kind of replacement ladder I could get for my 1978 Sandollar 15' all that there in the back of the boat it like a step that folds up and down it's missing the rest of the ladder well thank you again!!

1978,

Very black plugs are sigbs of:

1. Over fueling.

2. Over oiling.

Your correct oil to fuel ratio is: one pint TCW-3 rated oil to six gallons of unleaded fuel-87 octane.

Your carburetors may be in need of attention. The rebuildis easy with a manual in hand.

Look here for manuals.

http://www.outboardrepairs.com/manuals/
