1979 70HP Evinrude throttle problem

Have a 79 70 HP Evinryde that will run at 1/4 throttle and then suddenly go full throttle. Stumped on problem. TYIA.

Carb problem or suddenly running on all 3 cylinder from ignition problem. Need to investigate before running any more as if carb problm you have a cylinder not getting fuel and oil.

Runs on all three. good compression

It is not running on all 3 when its acting up...when it jumps to full throttle is when all 3 are working. Need to test ignition and fuel system

Thank you will test this when able too. Looks like spring.

Check the throttle linkages at the carbs and make sure they are intact. Additionally, make sure the remote throttle cable is secured, and the inner cable is not slipping.
