I have been working with this problem for a couple weeks when I can get some time. Ill include a photo of the control box so we all know what my problem is. Some of you are probably saying to yourselves I already know what he is going to ask. So , the wires that go in the box I have made all the adjustments I THINK I can make. My question now is there a replacement set of controls and cables that eliminate all the problems that went with what I have? I 2would like to go with a single control instead of two.. Thanks to all

If your motor has the big red plug, then you can actually get a brand new control box and an adapter harness to use it. Otherwise you can find one of the control's that has the key in the back, single lever with the lift up tab for fast idle..

Keep in mind, that the Simplex ( 2 lever ) control box is probably the most reliable, with parts that are still available.. The Johnson Ship-Master is the same control

Yes the single lever control box can be used.----You also need to find the correct adapter ( for the lower cowling ) to install the shift cable.
