im working on a 21' 1979 Apollo /w an omc190 onboard in it, when i got it, it had a wicked power draw, an ignition switch not completely wired, and wouldnt start. i had it started and idling, it died when i shifted into forward( which was reverse the shift lever is reversed) then no fire. turned over but week, there was one wire that was hanging loose on the ignition switch that was blue but was unclear as to where it went, still dont know. the starter was dead so i replaced it messed with the switch but to no luck. now i have a new starter and selinoid installed ignition switch with no magneto wire wired to it i dont have a clue where it is in the dash or where it came from or where the one from the wire harness is to the dash or switch. all the instrument panel gages and lights did work but not now . after instaslling the starter and seliniod when to start it and there was nothing no clicks no nada

as of right now ive got the ignition switch almost wired but having a hard time identifing the right ones. ive got nada what i do have is power to the starter but the brand new starrter doesnt do anything so the seliniod should be working properly i dont know what in hte world and reallyt having a hard go with out that manual any wire diagrams out there for an omc 190 anyoine know whatg the bare minimum needs are to get this motor to run. as far as the wiring is concerned. i mean i basiclly just want the motor to start before i put to much more time and energy into a motor thtw had 3 oif the freeze plugs pushed out/. i had it running long enough to know that it was holding water maybe no cracked block

bare minimum needed to get the motor running is a piece of wire from the + terminal on the coil to the + of the battery, then jumper the starter

however if there were 3 core plugs pushed out, most likely the block and heads are cracked. they are core plugs to get core sand out from casting the motor. they never were, nor ever will be "freeze plugs"
