1979 Carver Santa Cruz

I have a OMC 350 chev v8 and it runs great in neutral...pures like a baby. But under load, I cannot get it up and go and then stalls. What is going on hear??? Any suggestions...driving me nuts.

You would be better off asking you question in the Merc/Volvo/OMC I/O or Inboard engine problems forum up above.

Marc - although I've never had that problem with a marinized engine, and I don't pretend to be an ace marine mechanic, if that motor has points w/centrifical spark advance, make sure the 2 weight arms under the points plate aren't bound up, preventing advance. Sounds just like a problem I had with a '73 pick-up with a 350. Stumped about 4 mechanics. Finally figured it out, took 3 drops of oil and $0 to fix it.
