Hey everyone, I am having an issue with my 200hp evinrude when I advance the throttle. If I put the throttle all the way forward it well put along for about 1-2 minutes then it picks up and moves along pretty good. The motor sat for a aprox 4 years and it barley ran at the first of this project. I did notice that when the throttle is all the way forward it seems the carb butterflies are only about a 1/4 to maybe 1/2 way open... I can move the levers quite a bit more by hand for the carbs wich open the buterflies to a 90 degree angle. My inital thought is the sluggish start is a build up gunk in the carbs from the motor sitting or that it is not synced properly with the throttle.
If anyone can let me know what areas I should pay most attention to it would be a great help.
by the way the boat goes from a very slow start with the throttle fully advanced and with out touching the throttle and leaving it all the way advanced the boat welll get up to about 40mph at a slow advance.
