Frist off hi everyone ok now on to my question i just recently purcased this motor i replace all the seals in the lower unit and now impeller i put it all back together and noticed a gas leak in the filter cap when i pumped the bulb so i went and replaced the cap and it still leak we exopy the leak for the time ( i am going to get a new cap and rebuild kit this weekend) well anyway we put the muffs on it and it would crank up and run good so we took it to the river and it cranked but when you would put in gear it would go about 5 sec then die so we mixed up some fuel/oil mix in a sspray bottle and it would run as long as you were spraying it is it my carb or is it maybe a oxgyen problem thaanks guys

start with carb overhaul,check fuel pump and bulb.check choke.

A fuel leak at that filter cap may be enough that the carb has insufficient fuel to run. Could also be a weak pump. Instead of misting fuel into the carbs, try constantly priming the fuel hose bulb. That will force fuel into the carb bowl and it may run that way. If it runs ok while you constantly prime the system, you know it is a fuel delivery problem.
