1979 Glastron Seafury

Greetings Skippers - This is my first post although I have been reading for some time now. I recently bought a 1979 Glastron Seafury fishing boat. It has a 1990 Johnson 200 hp main and a new Suzuki 9.9 kicker. The boat is actually in pretty decent shape for an older hull. My goal is to take the time (when mot fishing) and begin to restore it. Probably will run into questions as I begin this project and I hope you all don't mind chiming in now and then. Tight lines....

Thanks for the comment. This was the first Glastron Seafury I've ever seen as well. The only problem I've experienced so far is when I fill the tank full I get fuel fumes in the cabin. I removed the aft cushion and felt a breeze coming in from the below deck and thats where the fumes are coming from. Not sure what to do yet except to not fill the tank so full during warm periods. So, that's what that is. I'm pretty sure I saw one of those when I was out working in Buffalo, MN. Nice looking boat...can't wait to see more of it.

Been looking around for an owners manual for my Seafury. I did find the following site with and older 70's Glastron owners manual if anyone is interested. There's some interesting stuff here fior the Glastron fans.

I just bought a Sea Fury just like that. Mine is a 1980, but seems to be in more disrepair.

Hey there, i noticed you like to fish Elger Bay, I live on Camano and have a 1983 Seafury 216 that i have been working on. If you want to compare notes i have that similar problem of fuel smell in the cabin and am trying to resolve the problem, have you had any luck getting yours to stop smelling?

Also recently acquired the same boat and am waiting for the cold temperatures to pass before getting it in the water. Mine has a drain hole in the bow for the cuddy. The removeable drain plug has been installed from the outside in. That seems dangerous to me if for instance you ran throug some floating kelp or seaweed. Is your plug installed in the same way??
