1979 Johnson 115 rough Idle

I just got a 115 and it will idle part of the time, and then not, it runs fine high rpm, just rough Idle. Also on muffs water is visible at the low center of engine near the pee hose. Suggestions Thanks

First thing i would do is run some seafoam through it. My 115 loves that stuff.

As to the water you are observing, take the hood off and have a look see.

As to the other your description points to a fuel issue. I suggest that you spend some time reading in the FAQ section. There are a bunch of things for you to do to a new to you engine.

If the carb idle circuit passages are filled with dried/old fuel, it won't idle well. You may need to overhaul the carbs to clean the passages.
