1979 Johnson 140HP Thermostat

I want to relace the thermostat on my 1979 Johnson 140HP. I'm not certain where the thermostat is located. Can I get information on replacing the thermostat on this engine?

They are in that housing under the exhaust plate "bubble" between the cylinder heads. The housing has three 1/4x20 screws holding it in place. Not the most handy place to get at but it can be done.<br /><br />There are several threads about this subject with good tips about drilling access holes for the screws.<br /><br />Good luck!
