1979 Johnson javelin V4 no spark on right side

I was wondering if anyone could tell me why my Johnson V4 isn’t getting spark on one side? I replaced the coil packs and power pack. Would it be the stator or the timing base? Thanks.

Check the wiring at the rubber plug ins.-----Possibly a pin not making contact.

When replaced the coils and the power pack I had to put new rubber boots a couple of the connectors be cause the old connectors had been cut off and the wires were spliced together. So today I broke one of the pins off the wire so I am waiting for new ones to come in. But it was not getting fire with the old power pack and the wires spliced together that’s why I replaced those parts. I wanted to put it back the correct way with the rubber boots. But now I am wondering if I should just splice the wires together again?

So what are the ohm readings on sensor coils and ignition charge coils ?

It is getting .3 ohms at each coil pack and .5 ohms from the power pack to the coil packs.

???-----Read post #4 again.-----What are the ohm values of the sensor coils ?-----What are the ohm values of the ignition " charge coils "?------Both these items are under the flywheel.----The flywheel can stay in place while you get these readings.

So the stator is getting 515 ohms and the timer base is at 34 ohms

Now those numbers make a lot more " sense " to me.-----They sound like the correct values for the testing I asked for in post #4..------Does spark jump a gap of 7/16" on a spark testing device ?------Have you inspected starter motor , battery and battery cables ?-----How did the motor run for you last season ?-----Post the results of a compression test before buying any parts !

So while checking the values they match on both sides. But I did notice that one of the wires on the nonworking side had rubbed against the flywheel until the wire was showing I taped and moved the wire. Hopefully that was the issue.

Bare wires usually indicate something.

Well after taping up the exposed wire and moving the wire away from the flywheel. It is firing on all 4 cylinders! Thanks for your knowledge!
