Lower port side: (and I didn't use any stripper on the bottom, only power sprayed it a bit, so you can see how it's worn down over the years)

Kind of hard to see, but the gunwale is coming out pretty shiny and smooth.

See the large copper (i think) rod? This is the second boat I've torn apart and found this under the dash. Anyone else seen this before? Anyone know what it might be???

Here in the detroit area we call that a nuisance equalizer ;):D {sorry not a clue}.
Cool project ya got there...looking forward to your progress.

...and lastly, the forward port side. The 2700 psi power washer did wonders on all of the "sticker work". Makes a great "scraper", even the REALLY thick stuff on the cabin sides.

Hee hee, maybe I'll store it on the shelf next to my can of muzzle blast, above the pail of rotor wash. :p ...say, you wouldn't happen to have a spare box of grid squares would you?

Cheers!

Hey Snow, in case you didn't know there is a thread with your name ALL over it!

http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=369584

...just in case you want to join up! ;)

Old tinnys are like unwrapping a fresh new boat under all the years of neglect. :D

One thing on the straw bales too...try to keep them dry. Anything sitting on soggy-ness for long periods of time (aluminum or fiberglass) is bad news and a recipe for corrosion (tin) or possible de-lamination (fiberglass/gel-coat).

Just saw that, thanks!!! :D

Yeah, I sure like the looks of the tinnys when yall tear up the floors!! MUCH nicer then a 'glass hull

10-4 on the dryness!!! I'm workin on riggin up some sorta cover over the boat to help with shade, and got some tarps to keep the sides from lettin rain in (and hopefully it won't be a really wet year!)

Can't wait to see more progress with the SC!!!! These guys have turned me into a SC junkie :D

I follow ya ez, and my rotary has all those pieces as well, but this is something "extra". It was just taped onto the steering cable

Well then I certainly have no clue. I figured somebody broke the steering cable tube and j-rigged it with copper.

The good news is that your paint seems to be coming off fairly easily. Are you planning on completely stripping it?.....cuz the bad news is that if it's coming off that easily with a pressure washer....I think I'd want to completely strip it before repainting.

Would you mind resizing your pics to 640x480? It's easy to do in photobucket and you won't have to update anything here.

Yeah, at least down to the original paint, then I'll scuff and paint per Bob_VT's suggestions.

Sorry about the large pics guys (and gal)! I use a really high screen resolution and hadn't noticed, but I'll resize them ASAP

Thanks for the feedback!

HEY, maybe some kind of grounding bar???

Oh well, just another mystery. ;)

Could it be someones crude attempt to reduce vibration/feedback at the helm when that monster merc was still a runner? Although, inner cable really needs to be weighted somehow for for that to have done any good at all.

Thanks jas! I appreciate the encouragement! :)

Hey Mark1961, anythings possible with that bar. I'm gonna call it the "anti-vibration grounding bar".

...and WOW all the way down under! You and Triton II have GOT to post some pics for those of us on the other side of the equator! :D

I for one would love to see where you guys are boating, and what your rigs look like. Got links?

Hmmm, yeah..."experimenting with stripper"...I would re-word that when telling the spouse what you've been up to all week-end!
