Subject say pretty much it!
I made a fool-hardy impulse buy yesterday. I was looking for an aluminum hulled boat to use primarily as a diving platform and saw a 1989 Spectrum posted with no prop. Thinking that'd be easy, I bought the rig ($700); non orig seats, new floor, -but- it wasn't just missing the prop, but the whole lower gears in th lower's housing/case. I suspect he lost the pin, the nut came loose, then thru vibration, everything just unscrewed itself (?) So it'll be easier (cheaper) to find a crapped out mother than rebuild the gears- so I found an '80 70hp elpt and am wondering if it's all compatible with my '83 70 el.
I have a Forester 1550 with a 70 Yamaha that runs beautifully....maybe scrap the whole Merc and swap motors(?)
