I just got a seaking by crystler a few days ago. I've been messing around with it the past few days to get it running. The original gas tank mounted on top of the motor is full of rust inside. I purchased a small 3 gallon external tank and added a primer bulb to the line and plugged it in at the card. I cleaned the carb up as best I could with carb cleaner. Once I put everthing back together I can get it to start up. Everything seems to be working as it is peeing water out the shaft and all. It won't stay running for more than a minute or so. Seems like its not drafting the fuel or something. When I prime it up to get the primer bulb hard... I have noticed it won't stay hard. If I lightly prime while its running it will stay running longer. If I don't then it will eventually hit high RPM and shut off... Kinda like a weedeater does right before it runs out of gas. Any suggestions on what I can do? Can these motors be converted to an external tank? I have ordered a carb rebuild kit to rebuild the carb to see if that will help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
