1980 50 hp merc weak spark

have a 1980 4 cylinders 50hp have two cylinders that have good spark at idle but fall out at high rpm's would this be power pack problem or somthing else.any ideals would be great.thanks

You might want to check the wires form the trigger to the switchbox. I have the same motor <br /> http://www.myfishingpictures.com/watermark.php?file=527/1413merc50b-med.jpg <br />and there was some corrosion under the insulation that caused failure in mine on 2 cyls.

Perchance did you check the coils and/or plug wires. These things can break down when a load is put on them. Just a thought.
