1980 70 hp OMC powerhead swap years?

Hey everybody, I hope you are all safe and well in this pandemic crisis. Scary times upon us!

I’ve got a stuck 1980, 70 hp Johnson. I have a 1976 that I think has a decent powerhead. And a 78 or 79 parts motor. Will any of these years cross over with the 80?

I believe all those will work. Check the parts site for the base gasket to be the same and driveshaft spline.

Spline on the 3 cylinder changed for 1989 models.--------And the 3 cylinder 60 HP ( prop rated ) for 88 will fit.----The 70 HP block changed in 86.
