1980 Glastron SSV177 w/I6

Does anyone else have an 80 SSV 177 I/O w/an I6? If so, can you tell me if there are supposed to be two approx. 5 inch round openings on either side of the doghouse about 4 inches above the deck? I recently found two holes in that location that had been covered over with new upholstery before I bought the boat. Thanks.

The doghouse is the engine cover inside of the boat with an I/O.

optional and unused holes for cables and wiring, maybe? that's my best guess.

I have a 78 SSV 177 140. If you are talking about what I'm thinking of, the two holes on either side of the engine cover are where the backs of the stock jump seat installed. they use aluminum brackets to mount in the holes.
