I have a Johnson 55hp, that when i turn the key its not wanting to do anything but engage the electric choke, when I turn thr key all the way over there is nothing no sound or anything. Looking for any directions on what it might be. Is it possibly in the control box like the nuetral safety switch or possibly a completely dead solonoid? Any advice would be great

Turn the key to the start position and wiggle the throttle handle and see what happens.

Sorry for getting back way late. It was the solenoid. As soon as I changed it to the proper one it fired and ran after a year of sitting. Gone through it all and runs great. Its why I love Johnson motors
