Hey guys, new here .Been reading for a while and decided to see if I could get some help. I have a 1980 mariner 50 that I'm trying to bring up to date on maintenance. Last owner was in his 50s and never owned a boat before this one. Anyway, I'm wiring in a new ignition switch and I'm having trouble finding a wiring diagram for the quicksilver box. I bought a sierra key switch that says it works with the push to choke and came color coded with leads but there is one wire that is different than the box. I don't want to wire it in with something connected wrong and end up shorting something out or worse. I can't find a diagram on the box that matches mine exactly to save my life. Wires in the box are: Red, Yellow/black stripe, Yellow/red stripe, Black/yellow stripe(2 wires), Purple(2 wires), and what looks like Blue/black stripe(2 wires also with one going to the tach). New switch is a sierra mp41070. If anyone can help identify the wire functions in the box I would greatly appreciate it. I don't want to go by color and be wrong.
