Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild
73 - Zombie? Yah, I got bit a couple of time a few days ago. They just seem to come right out of the farm fields as I run by. I wasn't aware that going with a foamed boat would be the symptoms though
TII - Oh yah, we'll get some soap jug action on this one too
GA - I hear ya. I've actually been thinking about this expanding foam since I've joined iboats - stewing about how it could possibly work. Funny thing is I actually wrote it off as basically not doable the other day. Because I'm slow, I suppose it took me that long to come up with something that
might just work.
Dave - Yah man, expanding foam is silly expensive, wow!!! So, some creativity will need to be in effect to keep the costs down
Lapline - You know, maybe I'll shoot some video in the next few days describing what I am thinking and we can kick around some ideas here. I'm certainly in no rush for this job.
Thanks for stopping by guys!

Last night I got some more demo done. Pulled a bunch more stuff off, cleats, grab rails, bolts, fittings, yada, yada. I dug out more foam, man what a pain to get that stuff out of the tight spots. Still have more to dig, ugh.......
I got the transom out too. I didn't bother taking any photos of that process as the ENTIRE thing was wasted. I cant even call it mulch, it was more like wet leaves, unbelievable. I kinda just ran my hand over it and it fell into the bilge. There was nothing that resembled wood
anywhere. I still can't believe there was an outboard rigged and ready to run on this boat when I bought it
I also finally got that vintage Evinrude trolling motor off. I left the grinder in the box though. My BurnzoMatic was the tool of the day instead. Man, that TM put up a good fight, took some flesh and blood off me, but in the end I won
All that's left is some foam to dig and the rub rails to come off the hull sides then she'll be done for a while.
Hey, I think today is Friday!
