J as you know be an adult is never easy and you have to deal with the curve balls as they come! Have a nice time down south.

Well, w/out the vacation deadline, you might not have gotten the SN buttoned up before you left.
Now the Islander rehab alone can occupy your thoughts & planning while chilling & relaxing at the beach

And when you get back the SN is DONE, available & totally ready for use

Safe travels, and have a great time...

It's still fairly early in the season, so a small offshore charter or head boats may not be full summer season price yet.

Hey Jas, the good news is you're going to warm weather. Family fun getaway.

Yea a little downer on the SN not going, but you know you wont have any issues with it. Just think of CBK's cow pasture treatment.

Have a great time, relax and enjoy.

Jas, I'm sure a family holiday without the boat will still bring you and yours heaps of joy. Good luck with the fishing. :)

Dude that's a bummer. If I lived closer than two hours from where you'll be I'd volunteer my yard as a storage spot.

(ahh the joys of being mobile only) Instead of just saying double post let me extend an invite should y'all ever wanna cruise down the Savannah river before heading out to the barrier isles I know a spot where you can park your tow rig.

Sorry to hear about the vacation problems man, if you ever decide to come south again you are welcome to my mountains, and if you can't slip the boat somewhere my hangar is always open to you in Good ol East Tennessee (From the Great Smoky Mountains)

Hey Jas,

Nice job on the SN. I'm finally getting around to the Nova again. I took a burned out impeller out of the outdrive today. I'll post a pic soon. The guy I had working on the engine probably ran it one too many times with the muffs. Plus it is just old so who knows. Nate

I'm replacing my water pump right now. Yours is exactly the same as mine but had a couple questions since you've done yours already. The new kit came with 2 more O rings than the original had in it. The one fatter O right I put right over the drive shaft right on the bottom of the impeller to seat on the metal plate, Where do the other 2 go though?

Hey guys, haven't stopped by this thread in a while.

In short, had a great vacation hanging out with the family. We ended up having a few really nice days and a few really windy/cold/rainy days. Boy, those nice days, it was hard to look out on the water and think that I could be fishing on the SN. Ah well. We sure had a nice time all the same:joyous:

So yah, there is a slight chance I might be out on this here boat in a couple of hours. It's really super nice outside...

and I may just want to take her for a spin:becky: We'll see if that actually shakes out....

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

Well, it was a Sierra kit. The bigger fat one I put under the impeller looks like it was added as an upgrade later to this kit. I know the other smaller one needs to go somewhere but I can't remember how I took the darn thing apart now. Too many things going on at once. Like you I'm rebuilding my entire boat, fiberglass, floor, upholstery the whole works.
