I leveled the deck much more than factory. It still has a slight
Pitch to center from both sides for water drain to the rear. It made
The floor solid. No soft stepping even on the good fiberglass.
My boat will be kept indoors and I have a good cover for
When its out on trips. I did think about making it dead
Level at one point. Depends on how dry you can keep it.
I will coat the entire interior with roll on bedliner and
Carpet the whole thing. Ill post plenty of pics.

Hello anyone who might be following

I did a bit a work in the last couple of days and thought I would give some updated pics. I did a bunch of re-upholstry work and added some upholstered trim panels. Ordered a new steering wheel. It will be here on Weds. Added some oak trim pieces at the helm and built a glove box and trimmed it with oak. I need to replace my throttle cables this week, get the trim spar varnished, and prepare the interior for carpet and install the seats. I also carpeted the removable fishing deck that will get a fishing chair mounted to it in the future.

I finished up a 12 foot skiff that I built from plans I bought from another boat building site. Came great.

I'm building a 12' skiff right now, but I'm sure it won't turn out as nice as yours. Bateau FL 12 Skiff

to come together now. lots of little things left to do before I lay in the final carpet on the floor and walls. I did some work on a removable cover at the stern to hide the batteries and gas can today. Here are my days pics.

How did you get around the 2x4 factory seat mounts, was going to cut mine out, but my dad says it's not such a good idea.

When I purchased the boat the factory seat mounts were gone. The previous owner gave me a set of brand new back to back seats. I plan on not mounting the seats to the deck. When I have the wife and kids we will be comfy. Then I can remove a set for more room to fish. Im even thinking about mounting bases for fishing seats under the back to backs for a quick easy conversion.

Your seat mounts all depend on what you plan on doing with the boat. When your re doing a boat the sky is the limit. I like having the option to open up the area to fish.
I know some guys that dump tons of money into restoring a boat and sit on buckets just so they will have more room when they get to the fishing hole.

Sure my seats will shift all over the place while in transport. They wont when your sitting on them. So to each is own. Let me know what you decide

for now i just put some cheap carpet down and bolt down pedistal seats, after boating season is over ill rip it back down to bare hull and start rebuilding, def. gonna do the floor like you did w/ the plywood, looks awsome. what thickness did you use for the ply?

In the center of the tri hull I used 1/2 inch to patch the rotted deck glued and screwed to the stringers. then I used 1/4 inch luan glued down to smooth out all the ugly seams for carpet. Check out the pics on the first page. Then roll on bedliner before carpet and you have a solid water tight deck. Ill post more pics when I get to that point

my center section has either already been replaced, or is still good, and stringers are good, so im guessing just a big hunk of 3/8" ply should make a nice sturdy deck, with some shims of course.

Sure. Just glue it evenly with a flooring tool. use the PL poly construction adhesive from HD. Put as much weight on it as you can especially around the edges. It will take any spongy-ness out of the deck.

I have been a fan of yours for a long time and now we meet. After watching your progress I decided to dive in. You have taken the Thundercraft name to a whole new level. Great Great work. I love all the added personal touches you gave it. I have a bunch of work left mainly cosmetic. should go pretty fast. Thanks for checking in with me. Good to see you back......... I do live in GA. west side near the Alabama border off I-20. I like to boat the lakes in Alabama, Lake Martin, Guntersville up by you also.

You will know its me because I had to have that steering wheel

Hello All,

I was able to get a bunch more of work done. I rolled in the bedliner, started to lay in the Carpet. Installed a couple of flush mounted rod holders and added 2 cutting boards mounted to the stern deck for cutting any bait. I even went and had the letters cut to give the boat her official name "Go With the Flo"
Named after the good woman I married 19 years ago that puts up with all my projects, All day and night in the garage, all my Home Depot receipts and me saying " It's almost done, it won't cost much more. Many of us know exactly what I'm saying.
