Yup I'd start by trying to get the blade down in the crack and then work my way across the back to the other side. Try and make the bend around those insets and NOT cut through them if possible.

And we have lift off!! Well sorta, made the cut and cut some places where they fiberglassed the hull to the top. Front is loose the rear still still kinda tight but I'm just guessing it's from the weight since there a love well, and four other compartments. Ill post a pic the the cut I made back by the transom. Thanks guys

If you're talking local pick-up of Poly unwaxed laminating resin then yeah that ain't bad. About the same you'd pay to have it shipped from USC.

Hey guys, having some trouble trying to get the cap free from the transom area. Would it be bad/ to much work repairing if I made a cut where the top of the transom is on the cap? That's where it feels like it still attached at... I've cut all the way back but still no luck? This is what I want to cut

That cut won't hurt anything and will be easy to repair when the time comes. Just not sure it will gain you anything. But it might gain you everything. Do you have any access from the inside to "SEE" up under there??

I had to cut that part out on my boat because It was fiber glassed to the inside of the transom also with a spacer board between the cap and transom.

I'm still waiting for total "lift off" pictures. If all else fails, use TNT? Just an idea...

Just to add to the other guys, that's the exact cut I made on both of my Skeeters (and both from the 80's) to break it free. In both cases, that's the only point that was perma-bonded. Aside from that, check that you got all the rivets out, check for silicone or 5200 between the cap and hull joint, or even some hidden hardware somewhere.
