Can someone please help? I have a 25HP Johnson that seems to have a gear slipping between the throttle handle and the carb. I have to wiggle it and push it in to keep it engaged. Thanks!

Look at the pivot joint where your tiller handle folds up, there is a screw that holds that gear in place. Is that the gear you are taling about?

Thanks, I did look at it(the gear) and it all seems to be ok. I read that the gears has to be lined up properly, but when I raise the handle the gears get out of line. There seems to be some slack in the tiller handle and it needs to be pushed in to engage when the handle is down. Is something missing? Thanks!

Take a look at the blow-up. Maybe you can see what's missing? I hear its a trick to line up those gears, sorry I can't help.

I'll try to find a blow up picture to see. Is there a spacer or saftey catch that should be attached to the tiller, anyone? Thanks Guys!!
