1981 9.9 air screw

Hi all,

I have a 1981 evinrude 9.9. My question is.....What is the starting point for the air screw, I was told some older ones are 1 1/2 out and some were 3 out. Which is correct. Thx

Anyone? It's the one that says rich and lean next to choke lever.
