1981 Checkmate steering - Help! can't get off

I just bought a 1981 20' Checkmate with a 200 mercury with dual steering that I'm trying to remove the motor on. I want to move the dual steering also. I've taken the steering wheel off. It has 3 screws holding it on. I want to take the steering pack off, but can't get it apart. <br /><br />Do I need a steering wheel puller to take the unit apart?<br /><br />Thanks for any help!!<br /><br />Rick

I finally got the box apart. It had a nut on the aft side of the steering box that had to be removed in order for the box to be split.
