Thanks a bunch guys It was acting like an empty tank and only was able to put 11 gallons in it, so must be something with the carb that is getting plugged or partial blockage that won't allow over 3000 RPM's for and extended time. I'm out of town for the next week so it's spending time with the boat doctor while I'm gone.

I've got a 79 SSV177, book says it'll hold 28.
