I know the water in that tank will heat up pretty quick too, not allowing the cooling system to properly function. And yes, continually overheating her will cause more problems. Make sure you re torque those head bolts. It sounds like you have completely covered the entire cooling system, I think you have completely lost me too! That block and head is real hot. If not the water deflectors and water passages in the head, Im lost. Id maybe try taking out the stats just to see what happens, Im not saying leave them out, but just to test.

See, here's the deal. I'm wondering if the water outlet in the exhaust housing is blocked causing the exhaust relief to purge it all instead. You really should be getting most of the water out the prop on the muffs and very little out those relief holes.

strange thing- i dropped the lower unit, AGAIN, removed the t-stats, but left the poppet valves in, i took my waterhose and cut the end off, i hooked it on to the water nipple on the bottom of the head, starbord backflushed out the waterpump tube, then i did it on the port head, NOTHING!, all it did was build up pressure. ?????
also i moght add that the exhaust cover does not even warm up during run time.

HT, i pulled the lower unit to make sure i did not bugger up the gromment, and i did blow air and water up the tube , i just come back in from pulling the two hoses off of the heads gong to the t-stat housing, water is coming out of both heads, HOT water, AGAIN, i am thoroughly confused, this is a first....

strange that it would make it up the water line but not backflush. At least you found your problem. Compressed air might be able to blast out the debris a little better. You may have better luck blasting it up from the water tube rather than trying to pump it down the water line.
