Hello, I'm an old guy who's new here.....just found this site, and it looks pretty cool. Thanks to whomever created it!! I have the above mentioned motor that looks practically new, and I am in the process of restoring it and the Terry 44cn hul it got here on. The internal wiring harnes seems to be rotted away...lots of fine wire scattered about. Any ideas where I might find this harness. Thank for any help...~denarky:)

And a good manual will have the wiring diagram in it. I just got the same engine over the winter on my pontoon boat model # J35ELCIG (long shaft)

Daaayum...that's ezackly the same one.....whered you get the manual? How do you like the motor, is it strong? I have a Terry Bass Boat[fiberglass 15'long x 5'wide] fastened to mine, and am slightly worried that it's too big for the motor. Can't find the CGtag...:D

haha. I don't have a manual for it yet other than the SELOC that covers '71-'89 and have not run it yet. I did just charge the battery and test the compression and it was around 90lbs per cylinder which is ok. What's yours? I'll get it on the water in the next few weeks hopefully. This is what mine looks like.

BTW, if you want, I can take any internal pics for you to see what the wiring 'should' look like.

Cool....the only harness I've been able to find is $125.00....the little wife is a bit apprehensive on this, because she cant see past what it looks like now to what it will be like cruising down the Ouachita:D So I have an angle right now, just gotta get past the cost of a few short wires that may come unwound just like the first ones. I'll get some pics in the morning, and maybe a compression check, if I can find my guage;) Glad to find someone on this site willing to talk....I appreciate ya, Bro!

as far as the motor puching the boat you will be fine..i have a 14ft fiberglass tri-hull with a 1956 Johnson Javelin 30hp on it and when i had it running good this past weekend it planed out within seconds and seemed to run 25-30... not fast but fast enough for getting across the lake... good luck

I am going to add some 1/2" treated decking, then carpet the whole thing, 2 batteries and one tank[6gal] then replace the seats and stowables...I'm hoping that the weight factor doesn't bite me, because I can't find the tag that tells how much weight and maximum motor allowance.
