OK here it goes. I have a 1981 240 V CC Mark Twain and just got it on the river today to load test it. Ran up and down the river great with a little carb problem, seemed like it was sucking to much air. Any way took it in to no wake zone and old lady was telling me about a mist of smoke coming out the exhaust so with the carb problem I tried to slam it in reverse then forward and heard a noise and then the engine quit and couldn't re-fire, I played with the remote and finally got it to fire then I had no forward and had reverse. We were in the no wake zone at the marina so I reversed it to dock and loaded it up thinking I blew the lower unit. I put one on that I knew was good and tested on the muffs and it shifter forward, reverse good and sound. Took it back to dock, backed it in and put in in forward and got nothing but clatter, put it in reverse and got good reverse. Took it home again and played with the shifter and got forward and no reverse. I downloaded the manual but if I have a linkage problem I can't figure out how to adjust it properly. The linkage with the Brass barrel is behind the cap and the throttle runs along side the port side of the carb. What do you think I have here?????????????? Thanks in advance, Chris
