1981 Zephyr Craft Center Console??

Been looking for a fishing boat to put my 1150 on, found this on Craigs today. Anyone ever heard of Zephyr Craft? It's a 1981 Center Console 18' with a 1987 trailer. I gonna go look at it this weekend, but he says it has a solid hull and solid trailer. Does $1500 seem a bit high for a motorless boat?

for a 27 y/o boat, 20 y/o trailer yes it is high.

You are mainly looking for soft spots in the deck, transom, cracks, all signs of a rotten, under frame.

Since it doesn't have a motor, how do I determine the transom strength? Just stand on it or something?

you really can't. all you can do is take a rubber mallot and tap all over the transom, a rap sound is solid transom, you get a dull rap or thub, is bad.

I tried looking it up and could find nothing. I talked to this guy yesterday FD. It was wearing a 115 Evinrude and he left the controls. If I ever got out there (I won't) and it checked out, I was going to offer $900. Looks like pretty new electronics.

i gave him that offer and he said that the trailer alone was worth 900
i told him i would wait and see if he could lower the price at all
think i might go look at it sometime this week.
